George R. Bell, of Arcadia, Michigan, was an Army veteran and life-long educator. He passed away at 88 years old on January 28, 2016. He is survived by Ruth, his wife and soul mate of 66 years. Survivors also include their three children, Steve (Luda), Kathy (Marty) and Robert (Gail) along with grandchildren Christopher, Taylor, Julia and Kameryn. George was the band director at Wayne Memorial High School in the 1950s and became the principal there through the 70s. He then moved on to become the superintendent of Northville Schools and retired in 1995. After his long career in the schools, he enjoyed more than 20 years of an active and adventurous retirement with his wife Ruth.
