Gary Louis Verardi
February 14, 1948 – August 5, 2025
Gary Louis Verardi, 77, of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. Born on Valentine's Day in 1948 in Highland Park, Michigan, Gary brought love, laughter, and kindness into the lives of all who knew him.
Gary proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he played on the softball team and earned the nickname "Hands" for his skill as a shortstop. His lifelong love of sports began as a boy playing baseball and continued through his adult years with softball leagues at work and in the military.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Madonna University and went on to have a fulfilling career. Gary worked as a program coordinator at MichCon before continuing as a senior account representative over the mailing department at Affiliated Computer Services, Inc
Gary had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and pheasant hunting—pastimes that brought him great peace and joy. He also loved movies and television, and he was especially devoted to the many dogs that shared his life over the years—Pepper, Gizmo, Shadow, Corky, Fluffy, and his childhood dog, Sandy.
Above all, Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Verardi; his daughters, Kerri Mulvihill (Dan) and Kirstin Bartsch (Brian); and his cherished grandchildren, Connor and Alexis. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Shirley Herman (Ed) and Sue Shripka; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ann Verardi, and his brother-in-law, Pat Shripka.
Gary's gentle spirit, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
