Gary A. Rozum, age 64, of Commerce Township, passed away suddenly on August 30, 2022. Gary was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Rita Kuczajda Rozum and George Rozum. He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Nancy Kujat Rozum; his sister, Cheryl Rozum Falin; his mother-in-law, Irma Kujat; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; his brother Kevin; his father-in-law, Rodney; and his brother-in-law, Don Fallin.
Gary retired from Ford Motor Company and was a proud UAW member. He had many passions in life, including a love of both model and real trains, camping and the outdoors, antiques, and all different genres of music. He was also the owner of a classic car, which he proudly drove to many car cruises, including the annual Woodward Dream Cruise and the Bakers of Milford cruise-ins on Sundays in the summer.
Gary and Nancy were always a team. He was always a willing partner in helping with the planning and implementation of countless annual Kujat family reunions and other family events and assisted Nancy in taking good care of relatives who needed their support.
He received his Master Mechanic certification many years ago and was often called the "engine whisperer," as he had a way of fixing anything with an engine. He was a boater, a snowmobiler, and an avid camper, but perhaps his favorite pastime was grilling outdoors and working with Nancy to put together good meals in the tradition of his Polish ancestors. Family and friends will be invited to a celebration of his life at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association .
