In Memoriam: Mr. Frank C. Haran (September 16, 1927 - January 24, 2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Frank C. Haran, on January 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and friendship to everyone he touched. He was a remarkable soul who embraced life with unwavering passion and determination. Born on September 16, 1927, in Detroit, and has been a long-time resident of Northville, MI.
In his youth, Frank dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player. In the winter, he aspired to be a speed skater. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and bowler. He loved music and enjoyed sharing his family room DVD concerts with his family. He traveled far and wide to explore and photograph lighthouses. But Frank's greatest passion in life was long distance cycling and up the steepest of hills that seemed insurmountable, but no hills were too steep for him to climb.
Frank was the epitome of the self-made man. He tried his hand in many different occupations, and when one opportunity didn't work out, he persevered on to the next opportunity. He ultimately started a home services business that he pursued well into his 80's. His business success not only came from the work ethic and skills he possessed, but also from the friendship and loyalty he built with his customers.
Frank was a cowboy at heart and cherished his cowboy hat, boots, and belt buckles. He loved Western movies, and his "happy place" was the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. His favorite spot was sitting on the patio of The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs where he would gaze up in awe at the mountains and wish he was back in the Wild West.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary, his daughter Beverly (Jim) son Robert (Rhonda), and his adored grandchildren Alexander, Madison, and Hunter. Their lives are a testament to the love and guidance Frank provided throughout the years. He would give his grandchildren advice and invaluable life guidance which he always expressed in verbal caps "YOU GOTTA CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN" meaning to achieve success in life, they needed to struggle and overcome any adversity along life's journey until they reached the mountain top…just as he did.
A celebration and memorial service will be held at O'Brien's Funeral Home in Novi on March 2, 2024. Friends and family are invited to gather at 10am with the memorial service commencing at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
