In Loving Memory of Fern Alice (Rowden) Adair

Fern Alice (Rowden) Adair, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a dedicated professional, passed away on October 27, 2023, at the age of 92. Fern was born on December 7, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan to her loving parents, the late Eugene and Leona (Moeller) Rowden

Fern was a woman of many accomplishments and roles in her life. She married David W. Adair, with whom she shared 33 wonderful years. Fern was a loving and caring mother to her children, Sharon (Dave) Chess, Carol (Jerry) Tavormina, Lisa (and the late Michael) Ingram, and the late PFC Joel Dansby. She also took on the role of a step-mother to Marlo Rose and Amy (Jack) Chesley, offering them the same warmth and affection.

She is survived by her sister, Gloria, and the late Hank Even, who shared a special bond throughout their lives. Fern was a dedicated grandmother to nine grandchildren, a loving presence in the lives of five step-grandchildren, and a source of joy to 14.5 great-grandchildren.

Fern Alice's professional journey was marked by 27 years of dedicated service as the Executive Secretary to the Superintendent of Wayne/Westland Schools, where her commitment and work ethic left an indelible mark. She was admired for her dedication and the positive impact she had on the educational community.

Fern had a passion for music, playing the piano with grace and skill, and she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially the company of her beloved family, particularly her grandchildren. Fern was an avid traveler, exploring the world and collecting cherished memories in every corner.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Fern's life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11 am at Garden City First United Methodist Church, located at 6443 Merriman Rd., Garden City, MI 48135.with visitation from 10 am until time of service.
