Evelyn McCullough, age 88, of Novi, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Providence-Providence Park Hospital in Novi. Evelyn was born on January 3, 1935, in Harrogate, Tennessee (Claiborne County). Evelyn was the daughter of Porter and Serena Brooks Chadwell of Harrogate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved spouses, the late John R. Rutherford and Richard C. McCullough. In addition to Evelyn spouses she was preceded in death by two (2) brothers, George Chadwell (missing in action during the Korean War) and Kinard Chadwell of Harrogate, Tennessee and three (3) sisters, Bertha Rice of Monroe, MI, Dorothy Chadwell of Tazewell, TN, and Juanita Parks of Harrogate, TN.

Evelyn has a surviving and loving sister, Lennie Gabrielson of Dearborn Heights, MI. She has several surviving nieces, Lorene (Ben) Turley of Plymouth, MI, Joyce (Les) Grodi of Monroe, MI, Berneice Conner of Monroe, MI, and Sherri (Craig) Reid of Lilburn, GA. The surviving nephews are David (Terri) Gabrielson of Dearborn, MI, and three (3) in Springfield, Ohio - Rex (June) Chadwell, James (Wilma) Chadwell, Roger (Marcille) Chadwell, and Norman (Carruth) Chadwell of Blakely, GA.

Evelyn enjoyed the family reunions and loved to see everyone and hear about their families. Family would come from Ohio and Georgia for a wonderful picnic in the park in Monroe, MI. Evelyn was always remembered for being a good cook and bringing some delicious cakes and covered dishes.

Evelyn is a member of the Legacy Church in Novi, MI and faithful to the Lord. Evelyn spoke highly of her church and its members and she served on various committees while attending her Church. She loved them all and enjoyed socializing at dinners at the Church. Evelyn worked several years in the Insurance Business. Evelyn graduated from Forge Ridge High School in Harrogate and she maintained contact with several classmates over the years. Evelyn maintained contact with some Tennessee friends like, Faye Snodgrass Garrett Yeary, Ella Mae Fugate of Tazewell, TN and Arville Smith of Oregon, Ohio. She loved everyone she ever met and never met a stranger.

Evelyn's arrangements will be: Visitation 4-8 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 38375. Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2024 @ 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, MI.
