Beloved husband of Mary for 70 years
Dear father of Bob (Terri), Ron (Eva), Cindy, Sue (Phil) Nowak and the late Michelle Dee.
Proud grandfather of Rick, Kristin, Britney, Allison, Ben, Theresa, Bill, and the late Rachel.
Great grandfather of Everett, Mathias. Kenney, Benji, Ana and Paul.
Gene graduated from Howe Military School in 1948 and served in the Coast Guard from 1950-53.
He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 38 years as a systems analyst in the Service and Parts Division.
He was involved in many activities at St. Eugene parish in Detroit including Ushering, the Men's Club, and the Good Old Days at Edgewater Park. He was a Director of the Detroit CC Dad's Club.
Gene devoted many years as a volunteer including Ascension Providence Novi and the Novi 50's Festival. He was a member of the Novi Senior Variety Song and Dance group.
Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Novi Sunday March 5, 2023. 2-5pm.
Gathering of family and friends at Holy Family Church Monday March 6, 2023 10:00am until the funeral Liturgy at 10:30am.
