Otila Ethel M. Wegienek (Bryzek)
Otila Ethel M. Wegienek peacefully passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024.
She was born on November 11, 1929 to Frank & Mary (Rembiesa) Bryzek in Dearborn,
MI.
After a short career at Ford Motor Engineering, she married the man of her life, Donald
A. Wegienek. They married on June 14, 1952 at St. Barbara Church, Dearborn Mi.
They enjoyed nearly 52 years of marriage.
Ethel lead an active life and was particularly interested in her Fox Run Bible Studies
group. She was also involved in many hobbies over the years including bridge,
boating, bowling, crafting/sewing, gardening, golf and travel. She loved social
activities and engaging with people to learn their life stories. She often traveled with
Don as part of the SCORE International business organization.
She and Don lived in Redford and Plymouth Mi. and then retired to Tellico Village in
Loudon, Tennessee. After Don's passing in 2004, she returned to Michigan and
relocated in Auburn Hills and then Novi.
She unselfishly raised three children and provided a great home environment for the
family. She leaves behind Karen Wegienek (son-in-law Dr. Bruce Dubin), Steve
Wegienek (daughter-in-law Nancy Wegienek) and Michelle Zelazny. She also leaves
grandchildren Scott Wegienek, Dennis Wegienek, Andrew Zelazny, Tessa Zelazny and
great grandchild Willa Wegienek.
A private family service will be held. The cremation is being handled by O'BrienSullivan of Novi and her final resting place is in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield,
MI.
