Proud grandfather of Kelli (Corey Biechele) Herrick. Dear brother of Nada (Bob) Thompson and the late Tom McLaughlin. Ernie held several automotive patents. He was a member of the American Society of Chemical Engineers and was involved with many organizations at The Church of the Holy Family. Avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings and especially The University of Michigan. He enjoyed playing cards and most of all, spending time with his family.
