Enrico DiGirolamo, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday morning June 22, 2026 in Novi, Michigan. He was born on October 7, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, to Angelo and Emma DiGirolamo, immigrants from Abruzzo, Italy who instilled the strong values that guided him throughout his life.
On Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1953, Enrico married the love of his life, Shirley DiGirolamo. Their marriage of 72 years was a beautiful testament of devotion, faith and enduring love.
With unwavering determination and a deep sense of purpose, Enrico devoted himself to his family, long-lasting friendships, and took pride in building Angelo and AngCo Trucking Companies. Enrico was a strong and independent entrepreneur whose life was shaped from a very early age by the family trucking business founded by his father over 100 years ago. It was this business that became his focus for many decades. He spent his entire career in the asphalt trucking business where he continued to take interest and be involved until the end of his life. He graduated from Pershing High School in 1951.
Later in life, he enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family, golfing, bowling and playing cards. He and Shirley were seasoned ocean cruisers on many cruise lines.
Enrico leaves to cherish his memory and legacy his children: Enrico (Kathy) DiGirolamo, Rita (Brad) Krause, and Mark (Sandee) DiGirolamo; his grandchildren: Lynn (Kirk), Joe (Erika), Scott (Bridget), Shara (Jake), and Tony; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Thomasine Preniczky. He was a loving uncle and great-uncle holding a special place in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews.
Enrico was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley whom he loved and dearly missed and his sister Gina.
