Elizabeth Dunn, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at the age of 89. She was born on September 7, 1934, to John E. and Murial Bellardo in, Manitowoc, WI.
Elizabeth's journey was one of dedication and love. She graduated from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids and went on to earn her nursing degree from Mercy College at Mount Carmel. Her passion for caring for others shone through her work, as she dedicated herself to helping those in need throughout her career.
In 1994, Elizabeth retired from Northern Michigan University, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service. Beyond her professional life, Elizabeth was a beacon of warmth and creativity. She found joy in sewing, crafting, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. She cherished moments spent playing Scrabble with her children and expressing herself through painting.
Elizabeth had a gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. She was known for her friendly demeanor and her eagerness to strike up conversations with anyone she met. Her genuine interest in others and her welcoming spirit endeared her to all who knew her.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Murial Bellardo, and her brother, John E. Bellardo. She is survived by her devoted husband, James F. Dunn, her loving children Patrick J. Dunn (Margaret), David J. Dunn (Colleen), Kathleen Dunn, and James M. Dunn (Patti), as well as her 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and sister-In-law, Joanne Bellardo
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Saint Mary Our Lady of the Snows, 1955 E. Commerce Street, Milford, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, at a later date.
Elizabeth Dunn will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of her family and friends.
