Widman, Elizabeth A. "Betty", age 71, of Farmington Hills, native of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on March 25, 2017. Betty was born on March 3, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Carlton and Catherine Breay. Betty graduated with the Maumee High School class of 1964 and a few years later she married Theodore J. "Ted" Widman in Maumee. She studied at Davis Business School and in her early career she worked in administrative and accounting positions for both Owens-Illinois and IBM.
As the Widman family grew, Betty decided to make her home and family her primary focus, dedicating all of her energy into their day-to-day welfare. To Betty, family was of highest importance. She shared over 48 years with Ted, loved her children selflessly, and spoiled her grandkids rotten. Betty will also be remembered for her sharp duplicate bridge skills and earning the title of Silver Life Master. In her leisure time, she also dabbled with various crafts, including ceramics and counted cross stitching.
Loving wife of Theodore J.; loving mother of Lisa (Jason) Henry of Canfield, OH and Greg Widman of Novi, MI; proud grandmother of Grace and Cade Henry; she is survived by her brother Thomas (Sharon) Breay of Punta Gorda, FL and sister-in-law Jeanne Breay of Arvada, CO as well as numerous nieces and nephews; she is preceded in death by her siblings William Breay, Constance (Don) Rosenthal, and Catherine Breay.
Visitation Tuesday, March 28, from 4:00-8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi (248) 348-1800. In state Wednesday, March 29, at 10:30 am with funeral Liturgy at 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Family, Novi. Interment at Holy Sepulchre, Southfield.
