Elaine Salow, 94, of Novi, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2022. Elaine was born May 8, 1928 in Brighton, Michigan. She grew up in Milford, Michigan and was a long-time resident of Novi. She had lived in her own home for 53 years, until her brief hospitalization.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ronald. She is survived by her three children: Carol (Tom) McLaughlin, Claire (Herman) Klingelhofer, and Paul Salow; her five grandchildren: Andrew (Stephanie) McLaughlin, Allison McLaughlin, Erich Klingelhofer, Courtney and Caitlynn Salow; her great granddaughters: Abigail and Madeline McLaughlin; her brother Lowell (Karen) Rowe and sister Janet Marble as well as many nieces and nephews. Elaine was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1946. Her father owned the Milford Times where she worked as a Linotype operator throughout high school. After high school she attended Denison University and subsequently graduated from Michigan State University earning a bachelors degree in education in 1951. She taught elementary school for many years. She enjoyed her family, knitting, gardening, new technology, and was an avid reader. Elaine was a longtime member of Ward Presbyterian Church. She loved God and her life reflected her faith. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Ward Presbyterian Church 40000 Six Mile Road, Northville on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11am with visitation at 10 am.
