Obituary

Dorothy Urso passed on November 21, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born on February 17, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Theresa (nee Valente) and Benedetto Nacci.

Dorothy's home was filled with warmth and aromas of her basement bakery, where she crafted pizzelles, biscotti, and countless other family favorites. She loved shopping trips to Target before having brunch with her family. Her zest for life extended to one of her favorite pass times, occasionally spending the evening at the casino. Dorothy belonged to a Senior Club and was a proud member of the Daughters of Isabella for many years. She knew how to make people laugh, and her quick-witted sense of humor and knack for teaching her grandchildren quirky Italian phrases made her the heartbeat of her family. Dorothy's greatest pride and joy was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy of love and laughter lives on in the memories of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will cherish the moments they spent by her side.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved children, Gail (Patrick) Backus and Jim Urso. She is the grandmother of Lisa (Bill) Munch, Jamie (Michael) Boskovich, Jeffrey (Kourtnie) Grieshaber, Andrea (Barry) Crawford, Clare (Austin) Rust, and Grace Backus. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Teagan, Tyler, Tanner, Preston, Grady, Juliette, Kane, Evan, Samantha, Cori, and Josephine.

Dorothy is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Urso, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Daniel Grieshaber and her brother, Joseph Nacci.
