Doral Jones
November 30, 1955 – February 16, 2025
Doral Jones, 69, of Novi, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on February 16, 2025. Born on November 30, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, Doral lived a life full of laughter, kindness, and adventure.
Doral had a happy-go-lucky spirit that made him a joy to be around. His easygoing nature made him beloved by family, friends, and co-workers alike. A lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, Doral never missed a game, cheering on his team with unwavering enthusiasm.
He dedicated 30 years of his career as an engineer at Ford Motor Company, playing a key role in product launches like the Ford Explorer. Following his retirement from Ford, he joined Mando, where he further honed his expertise, and later continued pursuing his passion for engineering at BorgWarner.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Doral was an avid camper who cherished the great outdoors. Whether it was a two-week camping trip in Petoskey State Park or simply sitting around a fire with family, friends and his loyal dog, Flash. He found peace and happiness in nature. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who adored their fun-loving grandfather.
Doral was preceded in death by his parents, Paulawona and John. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Cathy; his children, Kathryn (Ben) and Christopher (Valerie); and his six cherished grandchildren, Riley, Savannah, Piper, Lucas, Sage, and Callahan. He is also survived by his stepmother, Ella, step-siblings, John (Cissy), Jim, and Lisa (Dwight), as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Doral's legacy of laughter, love, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Doral's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
