Beloved husband of Mary Patricia for 63 years.
Loving father of Karen Gleason (Ira) Glass and Sheila (Ken) Lipe.
Proud grandfather of Nathin Glass and Emily Lipe.
Brother of John Gleason, Chatham, Ontario, Canada.
Don was a Registered Professional Engineer and owner of Steel Products Engineering.
His work, during five decades, contributed to the changing skylines of both Detroit and Chicago.  His favorite projects were the Tetsuo Harano Tunnels in Oahu, and the observatories at Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Don also served over 10 years on the City of Novi Planning Commission and its Construction Board of Appeals, helping to guide the early stages of Novi as a city in the late '70s and '80s.
His community efforts included countless hours with the Youth Activities Council (YAC) in Northwest Detroit.  He was also a member of the Monaghan Knights of Columbus.  More recently, he served many years fundraising for the Novi Lions Club (Past President).
Visitation Sunday 2-9pm at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Novi, 248-348-1800.  Prayer service Sunday 7pm.
Instate at Holy Family Church 24505 Meadowbrook Novi, Monday 10:30am until funeral liturgy at 11:00am.
