Dolores C. O'Connell Vedro,
Born on November 4, 1939. (82) Daughter of Cecil and Mary O'Connell. Beloved wife of 61 years to Edward Vedro. Mother of Kathleen Forhan (Jeff), Shari Vedro (Randy), Michael Vedro, Robert Vedro (Colleen). Grandmother to Kayleigh, Jenna, Eleanor and John. Adopted Grandma to Laura and Haley.

Sister of Margaret (Terry) Prince, Eugene O'Connell and the late Daniel (Shirley) O'Connell, James O'Connell, Donald (Beverly) O'Connell, Jerry O'Connell, and Paul O'Connell.

Favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beloved family member and friend to all she met.
Daughter in law of the late John & Theodora Vedro.
Sister-in-law of Laura O'Connell and the late Louis (Janet) Vedro.

Dolores attended St. Luke's High School and graduated in 1957. She worked as a secretary at various businesses until she became a stay-at-home Mom extraordinaire for her four children. She started her career at Novi Community Schools after her children grew older, starting as a cook and working her way up through the school district for more than two decades improving her position and gaining new friends with each job change. She spent time as a labor negotiator and went on to retire as a secretary in the administration department. Throughout her career and family life, she also volunteered extensively with Novi Little League. It was a great source of pride for her and her husband, Ed.

Dolores was a friend to whomever she met. Her compassion and kindness for all is her legacy. She loved to laugh and joke around and was known for her great sense of humor. She loved her family fiercely and they meant the world to her.

Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, 248-348-1800 on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM.
Instate Thursday, February 24, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W 10 Mile Road, Novi from 10:00 AM until time of funeral liturgy 10:30 AM.
