Devereux "Dev" Craig Earl, born on May 2, 1949, in Detroit, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023. He was the son of the late Claude Oliver Earl and Gladys Dorothy Lapham. Dev was the beloved husband of the Late Judith, and in more recent years, the cherished companion of Rita Ciot.
Dev leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He was a devoted father to Jason Earl and Rebecca Vance, a grandfather to Kyle, Hunter, Kayla, Aidan, and Dylan, and a great-grandfather to Alexander, Wessin, Whitley, and Windsor. His family was the center of his world, and he took great joy in watching it grow and flourish through the generations.
In addition to his immediate family, Dev was a dear brother to Claude Earl, Douglas (Debbie) Earl, Mark (Liz) Earl, and Claudia Earl. His siblings were not just relatives, but lifelong companions who shared in the journey of life.
Professionally, Mr. Earl dedicated many years of hard work as a bricklayer and foreman at Monte Costella. His commitment and skill in his trade contributed to the success of the projects he undertook.
Outside of work, Dev found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for duck hunting, finding peace in the great outdoors. Additionally, farming brought him a sense of connection to the land and the satisfaction of nurturing growth.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the funeral service, which will be held on Monday, December 4th, at 2 pm. Visitation will take place from 10 am until the time of the service. The interment will follow at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens.
