Dennis J. Behen, suddenly passed on Monday, July 24, 2023 in White Lake Twp., at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Sally Behen. Loving father of Mary Kaye (John) Neumann, Denny Jr., Behen, Ann (Jim) Allen, and Patty (Brent) Lesnew. Dear grandfather of Max, Joshua (Brianna), Tyler, Jacob, Abby, Lydia, Lauren.

Denny was a graduate of St. Mary's of Redford High School Class of 1948. He was a Rustic, captain of the football team and talented quarterback. He was described as the chief offensive threat on unbeaten team. He was named All City, on the Catholic League team and competed in the Goodfellow games. Denny was a Veteran serving three years in the Michigan Air National Guard. He met the love of his life, Sally, on a blind date and married on February 4, 1956. He had four children and seven grandchildren. Denny owned and operated Grandway Lounge and later Bogie Lake Golf Club. He retired in November 2002.

Denny loved family and friends. He had a keen sense of humor and loved to tease. He was one of kind remembering everyone's name and if he was wrong, he wanted to know when you changed it. He was never afraid to reach out and shake a hand. He loved competition and was the number one fan for all his grandchildren. He was a coach by nature, never lacking to share his in-depth criticism like don't forget to take your skate guards off, don't forget your dance shoes, no floating in hockey and keep your head down when swinging and stop putting like a gorilla.

Denny was one of the great ones that has left us, he will be truly missed and was loved by all.
Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, 248-348-1800 on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a eulogy and rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. Instate Monday, July 31, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Street, White Lake Twp from 10:00 AM until time of funeral liturgy at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the Mass will be a Luncheon at Beacon Hills Golf Club and Banquet Center, 6011 Majestic Oaks Dr., Commerce Township, MI 48382. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield at a later date. Memorial donations in honor of Denny may be made to Father Solanus Casey .
