Obituary

We are profoundly saddened to announce that Denise Eileen (Hayde) Marx, age 63, of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit, Michigan. Denise was born on January 11, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan to Jane (nee Jaworski) and Herbert Francis Hayde, Jr.
On May 19, 1990, Denise married Robert "Bob" Marx, the handsome young man she met in high school. From the very start, they became sweethearts, and throughout more than 33 years of marriage that followed, they were blessed with a full and wonderful life together.
In 1983, Denise graduated from Michigan State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Graphic Design and Studio Art. During her time studying at Michigan State University, Denise was also a beloved sister and active member of the Alpha Chi Delta Sorority. She later went on to pursue a graduate degree in Purchasing Management at Wayne State University.
Drawing on her extraordinary artistic talents and eye for colors and textures, Denise built a phenomenally successful career as one of the automobile industry's premier graphic designers. In her time working at several of America's top advertising agencies, she created sales and marketing materials for award-winning advertising campaigns at General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, and other companies.
Denise will always be remembered by her family and many friends as a strong, vivacious, joyful, fearless, compassionate, generous, charming, loyal, gentle, and loving woman who exemplified character at its finest. She was a gourmet cook who delighted in serving others her delicious creations, a talented storyteller who could engage any room with her dry wit and endearing charm, a car fanatic with her father and brother, and an animal lover who shared a special bond with cats.
Denise was particularly proud of her strong ties to her alma mater, Michigan State University – and especially its storied sports programs and winning Spartan legacy. She loved to share MSU sports moments with her brother, Herb, and never wavered from being a loyal Spartan fan whatever the outcome. – "Go Green!"
During her childhood, as the youngest member of the "Hayde Three Musketeers," Denise formed an unbreakable and lifelong bond with Brenda and Herb, as they traveled the world together with their parents. Throughout her life and by her powerful example, she opened everyone's eyes to the joy of being a blessing to others. And when Christmas or Halloween approached, she harnessed her masterful artistry to decorate their home with stunning beauty.
A devoted and highly accomplished wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Denise was deeply loved and will be forever missed. She is survived by her husband, Bob, her beloved mother, Jane (Jaworski) Hayde, her sister, Brenda Elaine (Hayde) Lucken, her brother, Herbert Francis Hayde III, and her nephew, Ryan Lucken. Denise was predeceased by her father, Herbert Francis Hayde, Jr.
