Dean May passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at Angela Hospice after a courageous 7½-year battle with cancer. Throughout his life, he found his greatest joy in the love and companionship of his devoted wife, Kathleen (Walsh) May. He took immense pride in his three daughters, all dedicated teachers in the Northville Public School District: Maureen (Alan Rosenberg), Meaghan (Kevin Monk), and Mary Kate (Tom Brian). Nothing delighted Dean more than time spent with his cherished grandchildren: Jack, Sean, Maura, Nora, Tommy, Joey, and the late Michael. His gentle spirit, quiet humor, and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dean proudly served his country for four years in the United States Navy, a commitment he carried with deep honor throughout his life.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, with visitation at 9:30 and Mass at 10:00 at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W 10 Mile Rd, Novi, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Angela Hospice .
