In Loving Memory of David Foster Wickman
July 11, 1941 - December 21, 2023
David Foster Wickman, a beloved resident of Novi, passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 82.
A true outdoorsman and Upper Peninsula native, David found solace in nature through his love for hunting and fishing. His passion for the great outdoors extended to his profession, where he dedicated 11 years as a devoted biology teacher in the Detroit School District. He also shared his enthusiasm for nature as a camp counselor, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of those he mentored.
In the 1960s, David crossed paths with the love of his life, Peggy, in Clarenceville. The two kindred spirits embarked on a journey together and celebrated 50 years of marriage. David's quiet, observant nature complemented Peggy's vibrant spirit, creating a partnership that stood the test of time.
Before settling down, David served in the Marines with honor and dedication, ultimately earning an honorable discharge. He was a proud graduate of Escanaba and Northern Michigan University, and furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
David was known for his quiet demeanor, choosing to observe the world around him with a thoughtful and contemplative spirit. He cherished the simple joys in life, particularly relishing moments spent with friends over dinner.
David leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his dear wife Peggy. He is also mourned by his beloved sons, Peter and Daniel, whose lives have been shaped by the values and wisdom imparted by their father.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at a later date.
He will be missed.
