Daniel Joseph Kanak, 93, of Novi, MI, died Friday July 20, 2007.
He was born in Prince George, VA, lived in Washington, DC and Silver Spring, MD, moved to Birmingham, MI in 1962. He retired from Civil Service as the Deputy Director of Logistics for the Army Tank-Automotive Command in Warren, MI after 34 years of service.
His wife, Ernestine Ruth Kanak is deceased. He is survived by a daughter, Diane B. Holter and her husband, John, of Tampa, FL; a son, Wallace G. and his fiancé, Gail of Novi, MI; grandchildren; Scott A. and his wife, Susan, of Denver, CO, Tracey L. and her husband, Michael of Tampa, FL, John S. and his wife, Kendra of Charleston, SC, John G. and his wife, Rebecca of Milford, MI, Brian A. and his wife, Stephanie of Philadelphia, PA, James D. and his fiancé, Kelly of Novi, MI; four great grandchildren; Alexander and Heather of Denver, CO, Grant and Julia of Milford, MI, and two brothers, Lawrence, and his wife, Loni and Benjamin of VA.
A private family service is planned for Sunday, August 5, at First United Methodist Church, 1589 W. Maple Rd, Birmingham, MI 48009. The body was cremated and interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
