Daniel F. Grieshaber, age 71, of Novi, Michigan, passed away on September 7, 2024. Born on August 21, 1953, in Missouri, Dan was the cherished son of Daniel James Grieshaber and Dorothy Lou (Worley) Grieshaber, who both survive him.
Daniel was a devoted husband to his late wife Carol, who predeceased him on June 11, 2024, after 50 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Lisa (William) Munch, Jamie (Michael) Boskovich, Jeffrey (Kourtnie) Grieshaber, and Andrea (Barry) Crawford. Dan took immense pride in being a Papa to Tanner, Teagan, Preston, Grady, Evan, Tyler, Samantha, Juliette, Cori, Kane, and Josephine. He was also a dear brother to Donna (Kevin) Shelley, David (Colleen) Grieshaber, and the late Diane Grieshaber.
Dan earned a master's degree from Eastern Michigan University and dedicated 32 years to serving as a police officer in Dearborn Heights. Known affectionately as "Mr. Fix-It," he found joy in gardening, fishing, camping, and tinkering in his garage. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for family gatherings and vacations. Dan was known for taking the scenic route, turning every trip into an adventure, whether it was exploring Yellowstone, Kentucky, or Tennessee.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24505 Meadowbrook Rd, Novi, MI 48375, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment of cremains will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Angela Hospice in Dan's memory.
