With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christine (Chris) Anne Lakin, a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt. Christine was the cherished daughter of Mary and the late Hughie Connors. She is survived by her loving siblings Mary Connors, Jamie (Danny) DiMartino, Kevin (Beth) Connors, Bridget (Mike) Rouhan, Sheila (Dan) McKeon, and Matthew Connors. Dear loving caring friend and former wife of Doug Lakin and a devoted aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews, who will remember her for her attentive listening and meaningful advice. Chris had a great sense of humor one whom you could always have a good laugh with.

Christine dedicated her career to education, working as a Special Education teacher in the Lutheran Public Schools and as a teacher consultant with the Dearborn Schools. She was a talented painter and jewelry maker, and her creativity was a source of joy for those around her. An animal lover, Chris always had a dog by her side, bringing love and companionship into her home.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River, Novi, from 1:00 PM until the celebration of her life at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation .

Chris's loving spirit, creativity, and dedication to her family and friends will be deeply missed.
