Carolyn Rose Perry
March 11, 1938 – September 14, 2024
Carolyn R. Perry passed away peacefully at home on September 14th, 2024 at the age of 86. A native of Detroit MI, Carolyn was born in 1938 to the late Harry J. and Wilma R. Fry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, Charles E. Perry, and her beloved son, Charles G. Perry.
Carolyn was the loving and caring mother of Linda (Joseph) Ciaravino, Gordon (d.) (Holly) Perry, Tim Perry, Lisa Perry, Michael (Kimberly) Perry, Laura Flevaris, and Daniel (Jennifer) Perry. Carolyn took great pride and experienced abundant joy from her 19 grandchildren: Mel, Christopher, Anthony, Daniel, Laura, Joseph, Dominic, Michael, Alana, Charles, Alyssa, PFC Anthony USMC, Elaina, Ava, Daniel, Kenneth, Abigail, Collin, and Julia. She was the dear sister of Florence (Clement) (d.).
Carolyn was raised in Detroit and graduated from St. Mary's of Redford High School in 1956. After Carolyn and Charles were married in 1958, they settled into their first home in Commerce Township MI. In 1963, they relocated to Livonia MI where they raised their seven children and resided for the next 40 years. In 2003, they moved once again to be closer to family and to assist with their grandchildren.
Carolyn enjoyed sewing, crochet, gardening, and games of Euchre with friends, but found her greatest joy in life by spending time with her family. Summer days under sunny skies with her children and grandchildren on the shores of Lake Chemung in Brighton MI are what she enjoyed most of all. She had a particular fondness for holidays, especially Christmas, and truly enjoyed gift-giving and hosting festive gatherings for the family. Carolyn will always be remembered for her kind, caring manner and the gentle guidance she provided as the matriarch of her family for so many years. She will forever live in our hearts and her memory will continue to bless the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.
