Carol Ann Mondro, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026. She was born on July 6, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Irene (Kruszewski) and Frank Pikul.
Carol was the beloved wife of David Mondro, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted mother to Dr. Sandra Mondro and Patrick Mondro and his wife, Tara. She was a dear sister to the late Barbara Bloch.
Carol graduated from St. Andrew's Catholic High School in Detroit in 1962. She worked for many years as an income tax preparer, a role that reflected her diligence and dedication to helping others. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed taking long walks. She also gave generously of her time, volunteering for many years at St. Mary Hospital in Livonia.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Avenue, Novi, Michigan 48375. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The funeral service will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Humane Society.
Carol will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
