Carmel Theresa (McNamara) Kelly
January 24, 1931 - July 8, 2025

It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of Carmel Theresa McNamara Kelly, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who departed this life surrounded by family and faith.
Carmel was the devoted wife of James Bernard Kelly, with whom she shared a long and loving partnership. Together, they built a family grounded in kindness, resilience, and humor. She was the cherished mother of Karen (Dennis) Blanchfield, Pat (Judy) Kelly, Sean (Kristopher) Kelly, and Dan (Kathleen) Kelly, and a proud and nurturing presence in the lives of her thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Born to Joseph McNamara and Margaret (Nagle) McNamara, Carmel grew up in a lively and loving home with her siblings: Rita, Jack, Leonard, Bob, and Donald McNamara. Her early years instilled in her a strong sense of family, faith, and the simple joys of daily life—values she passed on through generations.

Carmel lived with grace and quiet strength. She was a woman who found joy in the outdoors—whether it was taking long walks at Kensington, swimming with ease, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature around her. A skilled and patient knitter, she crafted warmth and comfort into every stitch, creating treasured keepsakes for her family. Her gentle presence, quick wit, and unwavering love enriched the lives of all who knew her.

She leaves behind a legacy not only of family, but of compassion, perseverance, and joy in the everyday. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and quiet acts of care.

A memorial service will be held on July 14th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a walk, swim a few laps, or craft something for someone you love—in honor of Carmel's memory and the life she lived so beautifully.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
