Bryce Henry Coleman suddenly and unexpectedly passed away this week in Ann Arbor. He was attending The University of Michigan, as a biochemistry major.
It was an exciting time for Bryce as he had just moved into his own apartment off campus, which kept him busy getting it set up just right, and classes had just begun.
Bryce had accepted his first job in a pharmacy as a pharmacy tech. He spent many hours in the last year taking courses and exams to achieve his state certifications.
Bryce had a wide and eclectic range of interests. Music of all genres, science, hockey, politics, pharmacology, cryptocurrency, investing, old BMW's, mountain hiking, skiing in Utah, streetwear and Korean history. He loved spending hours learning about what interested him in the world around us. Just to experience all genres of music, he worked his way through the Billboard List of 100 best albums of all time. Bryce loved nothing more than to have deep and thoughtful conversations with people about any range of topics.
Bryce was raised in Northville, Michigan, and attended Northville schools through 6th grade.
His childhood in Northville was full of activity, attending First Presbyterian Church, summers at the swim club, Cub Scouts, the cider mill, meeting friends downtown for Sushi, and gaming for hours. As a young boy he played many sports, finally settling on hockey as "the one" and played for many years at the Novi Ice Arena. He made friends then that he still is in contact with to this day. He eventually made his way out west to Utah to attend high school.
Unknown to many, he was a extremely sensitive soul. Starting from a young age, many multiple challenges kept presenting themselves, that at times seem insurmountable, but he persevered.
Bryce was in communication with a group of University of Michigan students about the possibility of starting an epilepsy support group on campus. He was excited at the response he was getting from students with epilepsy to even those who did not but wanted to encourage him and others. It made us feel good about the humanity of his generation.
Bryce leaves behind his broken hearted family, his parents Philip and Lisa Coleman, the sisters he so loved, Katherine and Kara, his beloved Grammy Clarene, and wonderful friend since kindergarten Landon. We did not want him to leave us, but we also know that he is finally whole and at peace wrapped in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Ward Presbyterian Church 40000 Six Mile Rd, Northville, 48168 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am.
