Obituary

Billie Grace Mercier, age 80, of Wixom and formerly of Novi, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Billie was born on July 1, 1943, in Talking Rock, Georgia to the late Buena Vista (Watson) Robinson and the late Guy J. Robinson.

Growing up in Redford, Billie attended and graduated from Redford High School. She was a successful realtor for many years and greatly enjoyed helping people find their perfect home. She then continued on to work in Cash Management with J.C. Penney for more than 20 years. Billie passionately traveled the globe for many years, visiting exotic places including Egypt, Poland, Turkey, Thailand and many other countries.

In her retirement, Billie played cards and games with the Lovely Ladies of Leisure Co-op and enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family members.

Billie is survived by her daughters Terri Ogans of Omaha and Sheryl (Derick) Rainey of Omaha and grandson Jacob Walker of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her infant brother Clarence, siblings Guy "Jay" Robinson, sister Nancy "Joyce" Wengrow, and Barbara Jean Reid.

A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held at the Leisure Co-op Clubhouse located at 50343 Helfer Blvd. in Wixom on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we request donations to the non-profit organization Special Paws – A Small Dog Sanctuary ( www.specialpaws.org ). Billie greatly enjoyed visiting this sanctuary for senior dogs and enjoyed playing with the small dogs who lived there.
