Beverly Blaszak, age 84, of Garden City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. She was born on February 27, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan.
Beverly devoted her life to her family, which she proudly considered her greatest accomplishment. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she found her deepest joy in time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished immensely.
She enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, playing games, and watching her favorite movie, Secretariat. Beverly had a lifelong love of Las Vegas, and after the passing of her beloved husband, she moved there for a change of scenery—embracing the adventure with her trademark determination.
Beverly was known for her strong will and unmistakable personality. Her family lovingly describes her as stubborn, beautiful, loving, and determined. Those who knew her well will always remember her familiar expressions, especially "Oh my God!" and her firm belief that "Snow is a four-letter word."
She worked for many years at Comerica Bank, where she served as an Assistant Branch Manager, retiring in 1998 after a dedicated career.
Beverly is survived by her children, Laurie Akkashian (Marty), Raymond C. Blaszak, and Glenn Blaszak (Kim); her brother, Gary Gabel (Lisa); seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Blaszak; her parents, Alexander and Loretta Gabel; and her brother, Ronald Gabel.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Beverly will be laid to rest privately with her family at Glen Eden Memorial Park.
