Obituary for Barbara Ann Place

Barbara Ann Place, age 76, of Northville, Michigan, passed away on December 22, 2024. Born on March 14, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Shirley (McCombs) and William Felska.

Barbara's life was filled with love, warmth, and a passion for teaching. She devoted more than 20 years as an educator at Dearborn Divine Child, where her impact was felt by countless students and colleagues alike. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the classroom to her family and community.

A lifelong traveler, Barbara enjoyed exploring new places and creating lasting memories. She also had a deep love for reading and a well-known sweet tooth, especially for chocolate. Above all, Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved wife of the late James Edward Place and the loving mother of Jeffrey (Dana) Place, Brian (Cory) Place, and Christopher (Carien) Place. Barbara was a proud and doting grandmother to eight grandchildren: Ava, Brady, James, Elizabeth, Cooper, Harper, Alrich, and Hannu, who were the light of her life.

Barbara is survived by her children, grandchildren, and many dear friends who will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and gentle soul. She was preceded in death by her husband, James.
