April Celeste O'Dale, age 76, of Canton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. She was born on March 31, 1949, in Farmington Hills, Michigan, to the late Ann and Harry Mohrmann.
April was a truly caring, charitable, and funny woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She had a remarkable way of making others feel seen and loved—often through her favorite pastime of writing heartfelt letters to elderly and ill relatives, ensuring they always had something cheerful waiting for them in the mailbox.
She graduated from Cody High School and built a fulfilling career that reflected her strong work ethic and vibrant personality. She began at the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association and later joined Honda North America, where she thrived amid the challenges and enjoyed connecting with colleagues from all over the world.
April was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church and lived her faith through simple, everyday acts of compassion. She loved walking her beloved dog, Rocky, crocheting beautiful creations for family and friends, and taking the scenic route wherever she went—always appreciating the beauty along the way.
Her family was the center of her world. April is survived by her loving children, George O'Dale IV and Colleen Neal; her cherished grandson, Ryan Neal; and her dear brother and sister-in-law, Kurt and Vicky Mohrmann. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George O'Dale III, and her parents, Ann and Harry Mohrmann.
Those who knew April will remember her generous spirit, her laughter, and her ever-present question—asked with a twinkle in her eye and genuine care in her voice—"Are you hungry?"
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM with a gathering starting at 11:00 AM.
April will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her humor, compassion, and unwavering love for others.
