Obituary

Anthony James De Silvio, age 95, died on March 31, 2019
with family close to his side. He was born July 7, 1923 in Warren Ohio to Savino
and Carolina Di Silvio.
Anthony served during WWII for four years, being in both the Merchant '
Marines and the US Navy. He made six transatlantic crossings and also served on
the transport ships on D-Day. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Doris Elaine Campbell (1925-2014) in 1947. They raised eight
children together while living in Ohio and the Metro-Detroit area. Anthony
received his Master's Degree in Business Administration at the same time working
and supporting a wife and the first six children!
He worked as the CIO for Chrysler Corporation until he retired in 1987. He
was devoted to his family ensuring that his children were well educated,
financially proficient, good swimmers and appreciative of a good sense of humor.
It was important to Anthony to reserve one night a week for "date night" with his
beloved wife, Doris.
Anthony is survived by his children Carol (Paul) Steffanni, Gail Susan Mack,
Mark (Betty), Debra (John) Hedrick, Janice (Neal) Miller, David, Jo Ann (Bruce)
Clifford, Sandra (David) Witt; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, and his sister, Frances.
Visitation at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Novi on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 3 to 8pm with a rosary at 7:30pm.
Instate is at Church of the Transfiguration, 25335 Code Rd, Southfield on
Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 9:30am until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:00am.
Interment with military honors will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
