Obituary

Anderson, Andy (Virgil), age 95, of Northville, formerly of Farmington Hills, passed away in Novi on April 16, 2017. Andy was born on December 12, 1921, in Bay City to the late John and Minnie Anderson. He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1939 and went on to study engineering at Stanford and Michigan State University. Andy joined the United States Army in 1942 and served in the south Pacific, including the Philippines and the occupation of Japan.
Andy met the love of his life, Mary, at the U.S.O. in Salina, Kansas. The two married in Salina on July 28, 1946. Their 70 years of marriage were filled with much laughter and very few tears. They were always together and on the move.

Andy worked for Lear Incorporated in Grand Rapids, MI for a number of years and later went on to own his own business, Anderson Electronics, selling electronic test equipment to the auto industry. When he wasn't at work, he was utilizing his pilot's license in his personal plane or was spotted on the golf course at Walnut Creek Country Club. Andy and Mary also got to see many sights around the globe. Among others, they visited Thailand, Australia, China, Europe and made numerous visits to Hawaii. He will be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor and easygoing attitude. Above all, he adored his children, spoiled his grandkids, and cherished his great-grandchildren.

The Beloved husband of Mary; loving father of Jack (the late Linda) Anderson, Dee Ann (Marty) Post; proud grandfather of Krissy (the late Chuck) Kentros, Gordie Anderson, Dennis Anderson, Julie Keiser, and Jeffrey (Blair) Keiser; great-grandfather to Zach and Brandon Kentros; dear brother of the late Marge (Ralph) Thompson, of Bay City, MI. Step-grandfather to Katie, Laura, Carrie, and Megan and step-great-grandfather to Zada, Wyatt, Ian and Cohen.
