Allan Glenn Benit

November 28, 1946 – August 2, 2022

Loving husband to "his lovely bride of 53 years" Dorothy "Dorie".

Beloved father of Kristin (Bob) and Jeff (Lynda).

Cherished grandfather to A.J., Brooke and Lucas.

Dear son of the late Elmer and Marion.

He will be missed by his dog Scruffy.

Allan is survived by many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allan was a family man who devoted his life to his wife, children and grandkids. He never missed a game, performance, dance recital, or school event.

He spent 34+ years working as a dedicated employee of Chrysler, primarily as a financial analyst. The last several years he spent as the Dodge/Nascar liason where he enjoyed travelling to all the races.

He loved to travel, with Alaska holding a special place in his heart.

In his younger years bowling, golf and baseball were his main hobbies. In high school he was given the nick name "Yogi" because he was a skilled catcher.

Allan was a CMU graduate ("Fire up Chips!"), where on the first night of college he met his beloved Dorie.


A gathering of family and friends for Allan will be held at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave. Novi, MI 48375 on Monday August 8th beginning at 5PM until 8pm.
