Myrtle Lucille Zack

January 19, 1941 - May 5, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Myrtle Zack announces her passing at the age of 78 on Sunday May 5, 2019. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 19, 1941, to the late John “Jack” and Gladys (Ross) Dalzell. Myrtle graduated from Cody High School in 1959 and married the love of her life, Ernest Zack, in 1962. Myrtle and Ernest raised two sons and built a beautiful life together, first in Livonia and later in Northville. When the boys were older, Myrtle began a career in real estate and was honored as a major producer in 1989. After retiring in 1989, they purchased a lakefront home in northern Michigan near Petoskey where they spent “Life is Good” time sunning on Crooked Lake on their pontoon boat , dining in Harbor Springs and Petoskey, and socializing with good friends. Myrtle took great joy and pride in decorating her homes and she had a special talent for turning them into beautiful showcases. She loved flowers and was a member of the Northville Garden Club. She also had a special “white garden” that she particularly loved at her Northville home. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and taking them on fun activities, whether it was learning to sail or hopping on the Polar Express to visit Santa. Each year she would give them a special outfit and coat to wear at Christmas. Myrtle will be remembered as a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved and appreciated the good things in life. We will always carry her memory in our hearts. Myrtle is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ernest; loving sons Ernie (Jackie) Zack and Alan Zack: adoring grandchildren Sydney and Spencer Zack; dear sister Sandee (Dave) Stamm; and nieces Sheri (Tim) Coman and Suzette (Don) Swies. She was preceded in death by brother, Jack Dalzell. Family and friends are invited to visitation at the O’Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home 41555 Grand River Avenue Novi, MI 48375 from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Funeral service with be 11 am Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, Troy, MI. Expressions of sympathy www.obriensullivanfuneralhome.com
