Frank L. Collar (1932 – 2022) Frank L. Collar was born on October 28, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from the Henry Ford Trade School in Detroit, Michigan. In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart Beverly “Pat” Gazzeny. They were married for 69 years. Frank is survived by Beverly and their four sons, Michael (Kathy), Timothy (Jody), Kevin (Maureen), and Derek (Susie). Frank was preceded in death by his son Brian. Frank and Beverly adored their 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Frank spent most of his career as a draftsman/designer for the Big 3 automakers in Detroit. In his early years, Frank enjoyed playing basketball and softball and later in life, took pleasure in watching ice hockey…especially his beloved Detroit Red Wings. In retirement, Frank and Beverly loved traveling to Mexico during the winter months, where they spent many enjoyable days and nights with friends. Frank lived life to the fullest, was incredibly outgoing and never met a stranger! He often said he wanted Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” played at his memorial. A celebration of life is anticipated for summer and details will be forthcoming.
