NOVI – Peter Howland Hoadley, 4-30-33 – 1-13-18.
Mr. Hoadley was active in civic affairs throughout his life. He had a passion for assisting the blind and worked through various Lions' Clubs to advance book and eye-glass services for the sight-impaired. In 1989-90, he was recognized for "exemplary performance" as president of the Hartland, MI Lions Club. In 2000, the Novi Lions Club named him "Lion of the Year." Two years later, he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for "dedicated humanitarian services."
Earlier in his life, he was active in the Florida Jaycees organization, was recognized for "outstanding community service" and was selected in 1967-68 "Jaycee of the Year" by the Maitland, FL club.
He and his wife Barbara have lived in Novi for 27 years. In the 1990s he served on the city's Planning Commission.
