Obituary

Pamela Ann Maloney

October 1, 1945 July 14, 2022

Pamela Ann Maloney (Reeves) entered into eternal life with the sunrise on Thursday. July 14.

She was the beloved wife of Gerald Patrick Maloney for 46 years. Sister of Sandra (Michael) DeWald, the late Rev. Nathaniel Reeves, OSB, and Richard Reeves. Sister-in-law of Joyce Reeves. Aunt of John, Stephen, Janice and Heather.

Proud aunt of many great nieces and nephews and great-great-aunt of Maureen Ann. Godmother of Stephen, Brendan, Sean, Colleen and Ryan.

Pamela graduated from St. Francis College with a degree in education and later earned a Master's in Education from the University of Michigan, as well as a specialist certificate for her studies.

When she was 19, Pamela started working at the Catholic Youth Organization summer girls' camp, where she met several of her life-long friends over a decade as director of the program.

She began her career in education as a teacher at Brentwood Elementary in Indiana. Pam then spent more than 20 years with Southfield Public Schools as a teacher and vice principal, retiring as principal of Levey Middle School.

Pamela was a talented cook and loved nothing more than hosting family and friends for carefully planned meals and parties, always remembering each guest's unique interests. She loved trying new recipes from her vast collection of cookbooks, and penned several of her own.

Pamela and Gerald had been active in the Irish American Culture Association through which they organized several cookery schools. They later joined the Detroit Yacht Club and shared their love of cooking with DYC members and friends through annual culinary classes, with the most recent class in May centered around recipes attendees shared from their own "Mama's Kitchen." Pam also organized the DYC's Garden Club.
