Nikolai Ivanov died July 24th, 2016 after battling chronic respiratory issues. He was born in Russia in 1922 to Gregory and Maria. He was raised on the family's farm near the border of Estonia. When he was 17 years old, the family's property became occupied by German troops. He was ushered to Germany where he was forced to work in a labor camp for 3 ½ years until the camp was liberated. He came to the United States where he met is late wife, Svetlana of more than 40 years. He is survived by his daughter, Tamara and two grandchildren, Zaria & Connor. He will be remembered for his positive outlook on life and his laid back sense of humor. He will be missed by all that had the privilege to know him.
Visitation will take place Thursday, July 28, from 9:00am to 11:00am with funeral service at 11:00am at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River, Novi, MI
Interment/Burial White Chapel Cemetery, 621 West Long Lake, Troy, MI. Meet at the gates of White Chapel Cemetery immediately following the funeral service at the funeral home. We will process back to the grave for a short prayer service and burial.
