Obituary

Dr. Lynne W. Boyle, age 84 of Novi (formerly of Grand Rapids and Detroit).
Died March 4, 2014 at home.
Loving mother of Michael (Carolyn).
Daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary Waddell
Beloved grandmother of David and Kevin.
Dear sister of Gordon (Carol).
A graduate of Calvin College, Grand Rapids, with a Masters and Ed. Degree from Wayne State.
Began a modeling career under Betty Ford at Herpolsheimers Dept. Store in Grand Rapids.
Married Bill Boyle in 1951 and moved to Ann Arbor where she began teaching elementary school. In 1956 she moved to Detroit. She continued to model while working as a substitute teacher for Detroit Schools. Her early television career included being a host on "Junior Auction" on channel 2. As a model she worked the auto shows for several Detroit car companies including Ford and American Motors where she was known as a "Rambler Girl".
After retiring from modeling Lynne resumed teaching full time at Priest Elem. School in Detroit and then in 1981 began working at the Detroit Public School radio station WDTR as general manager retiring there in 1996.
She began volunteering for many organizations including Novi Historic Commission, Michigan Youth Appreciation Foundation, Kiwanis, International Institute, Handicap Scouts of America, Wayne County Council for the Arts, Metro Detroit Youth Day and the National Academy of the Television Arts and Sciences.
Lynne's other television credits include Daedal Doors, Facts Factory and most recently Interfaith Odyssey on channel 56 for which she won an Emmy Award. Lynne was a member of AFRA and the Screen Actors Guild.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 5 at 11 A.M. with refreshments to follow at First Presbyterian Church of Northville, 200 E. Main, Northville. Memorial tributes may be made to the Michigan Humane Society. www.michiganhumane.org
