Kathryn Lee Mussat

Kathryn Lee Mussat, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 31, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on October 17, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Kathryn was the cherished daughter of the late Nancy (LoCicero) and Sebastian Moceri. A proud graduate of Benedictine High School, she carried a deep love for family, faith, and community throughout her life.
Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, Kathryn was a fabulous cook who never let anyone leave her home hungry. Her love extended beyond the kitchen—she lovingly crocheted blankets for anyone in need, including newborns at the hospital where she volunteered for many years. Kathryn also had a passion for travel and took great joy in attending her grandchildren's events, always cheering them on with pride and love.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, James P. Mussat; her six children: James, Marianne, Anthony, Christopher (Sue), Joel (Amy), and Stephanie (Sean) O'Neil; and her treasured grandchildren: Nicole, Alexander (Abbey), Braden, Giovanna, Abigail, Dominic, Brynn, and Evan. She is also survived by her dear brothers: Peter (Susie) Moceri, Vincent (Maureen) Moceri, and Thomas (Beth) Moceri.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 48375. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 Ten Mile Rd., Novi, MI 48374, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Kathryn will be entombed at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.

, a cause close to Kathryn's heart.
Kathryn's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
