Josephine Flora Zaleski, 84, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was born March 19, 1934, to the late Carlos and Ida Manni, in Detroit, Michigan.
Josephine was the epicenter of the Zaleski family. She was beloved by all those who walked into her life due to her uncanny ability to make anyone feel at home. And she was known for always offering up wisdom, laughter, and a plate to guarantee everyone was full and happy when they left her side. Her most prized possessions were her three sons, Kevin (Lisa), Allen (Donna), and David (Sue), and she found most anything that they did brag-worthy.
She spent her life loyal to her late husband Robert Zaleski, son of the late Henry and Helen Zaleski, who she would often tell stories about to keep his memory alive and make him known to all those who were unable to meet him. And she adored her siblings Bruno (Midge) Manni, Esther (the late, Stephen) Kaszowski, the late Alfia (Clifford) Phillips, and the late Viola (James) Chrispen.
When it came to her doting grandchildren, Robert (Taleen), Zachary, Jordan (Lauren), Sydney, Megan, Erica, and Connor, she liked to think of herself as another mother-figure, always imparting wisdom and teaching lessons. She knew how to make her grandkids laugh uncontrollably and even found herself at the center of some pranks, however, she didn't mind.
In her recent years, Josephine was most excited about what the future held for her children and grandchildren, and was over the moon about becoming a great grandmother.
If there was one lesson Josephine continually taught to those who entered into her life it is this: family is always first. Sempre Famiglia.
Josephine will be missed by her three children: Kevin (Lisa) Zaleski, Allen (Donna) Zaleski, David (Sue) Zaleski, her grandchildren: Robert Zaleski (Taleen Najarian), Zachary Zaleski, the late Sydney Zaleski, Jordan (Lauren) Zaleski, Megan Zaleski, Erica McNeely, and Connor McNeely, and great grandchild: Reece Glidden, and a great granddaughter due this month. In addition to many nieces, nephews, and friends.
