Gary DePollo was born on August 5th, 1947 in Detroit, MI to Adeline (Quattro) and William DePollo. He was the second born of six siblings: William Lee (deceased) (Dorothy Conrad) of Youngsville NC; Douglas, Randal (deceased), Kevin (Lynn Thomas) and Karen. He graduated Visitation High School in 1965.

Gary married Judy Coleman in 1967. They have three children: Mark (Heather Hayes), Theresa, and, Jennifer and, 8 grandchildren; Brian, Anthony (Jenna), Jonathan, Alexio, Samuel, Arie, Adelina, and Angelo. To list his cousins and extended family would require approximately 57 more pages. Fair to say, he loved them all.

Gary served in the Michigan National Guard from 1967 through 1972 being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

He was a founding member of The Church of the Holy Family in Novi, MI.

Gary was a Journeyman Sheet Metal worker and member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 292 in Detroit. As project manager he was responsible for the erection of paint finishing systems in automobile plants all throughout North America.

He retired from a career in heavy construction in 2009 in order to focus more time on his other talents, travels, and family.

Gary was a loving husband and proud father who married his childhood sweetheart and had 53 years of marriage together. He was a devoted grandfather and a role model for all of his children and grandchildren. He loved and cared for all of his family close and far, and was instrumental in tracing his family heritage and reuniting his vast family tree. He was compassionate and considerate to all, a creator, giver, and educator.

In Fall of 2017 Gary was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and fought like a hero for over 2.5 years.

Due to the unfortunate timing of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Memorial Services and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date and will be well communicated to ensure everyone will be able to honor and pay last respects to this most wonderful, gentle man.
