Gabriela Teodora Castillo Cervantes, of Novi, Michigan, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 56. She was born on March 24, 1969, in Abasolo, Guanajuato, Mexico. A woman of warmth, strength, and deep compassion, Gabriela leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to the people she cherished most.

Gabriela found joy in life's simple but meaningful pleasures—gardening in the sunshine, cooking meals that brought her family together, and shopping for the little things that made her smile. In Mexico, she dedicated her professional life to nursing, a calling that reflected her caring heart and natural desire to help others. While in the US, she worked as a housekeeper continuing that desire to help others. She also worked at a gardening store, where she nurtured and cared for the plants. Of all her accomplishments, however, she was most proud of being a mother. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her energy, courage, and love into each of them every day.

Those who knew Gabriela remember her as genuine, hard working, brave, bright, strong, silly, compassionate, protective, and endlessly supportive. She often shared the comforting reminder, "Only God knows why He does things," a phrase that continues to offer solace to the many people who loved her. Gabriela is survived by her partner, Fernando; her daughters, Melane and Nayra; her sisters, Maria, Mariana, and Aide; her brother, Jose; her mother, M. Francisca, and also her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Francisco; her grandparents, Domitila, Agustin, Juana, and Casimiro; and her great-nephew, Carlos.

Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 48375. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. (noon) and continue until the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., with visitation resuming afterward until 4:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Novi, with visitation from 10:00 am until the Mass begins at 10:30 am.

Gabriela will be remembered with profound love by all who were blessed to know her.

Mujer de calidez, fortaleza y profunda compasión, Gabriela deja un legado de amor, resiliencia y entrega a las personas que más quiso.

Gabriela encontraba alegría en los placeres simples pero significativos de la vida: cuidar su jardín bajo el sol, cocinar comidas que reunían a su familia y salir de compras por las pequeñas cosas que le sacaban una sonrisa. En México, dedicó su vida profesional a la enfermería, una vocación que reflejaba su corazón bondadoso y su deseo natural de ayudar a los demás. En Estados Unidos, trabajó como ama de llaves, continuando con ese deseo de servir. También trabajó en una tienda de jardinería, donde cuidaba y atendía con dedicación a las plantas. Sin embargo, de todos sus logros, el que más orgullo le daba era ser madre. Su familia era el centro de su mundo, y cada día entregaba su energía, valentía y amor a cada uno de ellos.

Quienes conocieron a Gabriela la recuerdan como genuina, trabajadora, valiente, brillante, fuerte, divertida, compasiva, protectora y siempre dispuesta a brindar apoyo. A menudo compartía el reconfortante recordatorio: "Solo Dios sabe por qué hace las cosas", una frase que sigue ofreciendo consuelo a las muchas personas que la amaron. Gabriela deja atrás a su pareja, Fernando; sus hijas, Melane y Nayra; sus hermanas, María, Mariana y Aide; su hermano, José; su madre, M. Francisca; así como a sus sobrinas y sobrinos. Le precedieron en fallecimiento su padre, Francisco; sus abuelos, Domitila, Agustín, Juana y Casimiro; y su sobrino-bisnieto, Carlos.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo el viernes 12 de diciembre de 2025 en O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 48375. La visita comenzará a las 12:00 p. m. (mediodía) y continuará hasta el Servicio Funeral a la 1:00 p. m., reanudándose después hasta las 4:00 p. m.

Se celebrará una Misa Funeral el viernes 26 de diciembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de la Sagrada Familia en Novi, con velación desde las 10:00 a. m. hasta el inicio de la misa a las 10:30 a. m.

Gabriela será recordada con profundo amor por todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.
