Eleanor H. Freers, 91
Eleanor H. Freers, age 91 of Novi, MI passed away on Saturday December 9, 2017. She was married to her loving husband Howard P. Freers for over 70 years.
Her favorite pastimes were playing bridge & euchre, knitting (she knitted Christmas stockings for every son, spouse and grandchild), doing word search, puzzles, reading and traveling the world with Howard. Together they visited South America, Russia, Alaska, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, Spain, The Caribbean and Italy.
Eleanor was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1926. She attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and then went on to Butler University.
Before marriage she worked at William H. Block Department store and the National Literary Society. She married Howard P. Freers on June 22, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has three sons Steven (Christine), James (Gin) and David (Marina)
She was a loving mother and home maker supporting Howard and raising three sons.
Eleanor is survived by her grandchildren, Dana (Patrick), Jim (Missy), Erin (Robbie), Stephanie (Jordan), Jeffery, and Fredrick (Lisa).
Her great grandchildren are Sidney, Quinn, Emelene, Grayson, Sebastian, Luke, Adelynn and Fischer.
She is also survived by her niece Cecelia Reeder Sandifer (Dennis) and Nephew Russell Reeder (Diane).
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Reeder and her great grandson Logan.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Eleanor's life at Fox Run Retirement Community on December 16, 2017 from 11AM to 2 PM. Lunch and the memorial service will be held in the Belmont Clubhouse. Fox Run is located at 41000 West 13 Mile Road, Novi, MI 48377.
