Donald Francis Boufford
October 3, 1928 – October 1, 2021
Donald Francis Boufford, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 92 with his sister, Jean Finkbiner and his son, Rick by his side.
Beloved husband of the late Pauline (Boulet) Boufford for 62 years. Loving father of Robert, Lawrence, Richard, Pamela, Carol, John, Diane, Sandra and Deborah, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was also a devoted brother to Jean Finkbiner and Chuck Boufford.
Donald was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Oswald and Myrtle Boufford. He attended University of Detroit High School and earned a Bachelors' degree in Business from University of Detroit. He was married to the love of his life, Pauline, until her passing in 2013.
His career in Sales and Operations with Ford Motor Company's Tractor Division spanned more than 30 years. He was very proud of being part of the farming community that helped feed the world. His job took him and his family from Michigan to life in Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, and California. He and Pauline were always active in planning and participating in neighborhood, church and community activities. They loved to put on a good party or barbeque, surrounded by family and friends wherever they called home.
Donald was an active volunteer throughout his life, including Saint Vincent DePaul, Boy Scouts of America, his church community, and several clubs and planning committees at Fox Run Senior Living Community in Novi, Michigan. He was an avid gardener and through example, he shared his love and knowledge of gardening with his children and grandchildren. While he appreciated the opportunity to travel around the country and many places throughout the world, he often reminisced and had fond memories of time spent on his grandparents' family farm in Canada.
Donald was a loving and supportive husband and incredible father. He is lovingly remembered for his hearty voice, sage advice, love of family and friends, and humble heart of gratitude. Family and friends will cherish their memories and happy times with him for many years to come.
