Born on Aug. 21, 1925 in Detroit, MI to Andrew and Josephine (Wroblewski) Kasperowicz. She was the third of four children. An older sister, Eleanor, and an older brother, Edward predeceased her. A younger brother, Leonard of Algonac, MI survives.
Charlotte grew up in Hamtramck. After graduating from Girls Catholic Central High School, she completed Marygrove College followed by a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. Her career in social work started in a Settlement House, The Polish Aid Society, then continued in other private and public agencies.
Married in 1962 to Edward J. Cavanary Jr., they lived in Southfield, MI until retiring to Destin, FL in 1993.
A long time hand weaver, she enjoyed this hobby all her adult life joining the Michigan Weavers Guild and the Florida Tropical Weavers. She was also a Charter member of the National Assoiation of Social Workers attaining the Diplomate level.
In 2003 her memoirs of growing up in Hamtramck, "Hamtramck Haunts" was self published.
Survivors include her brother, Dr. Leonard Kasperowicz(the late Arlene), nephews: Leonard Kasperowicz (Michelle), David Kasperowicz (Julie), nieces: Ann Humes (Michael), Dr. Rachael Kasperowicz, Charlotte Ogden (Patrick), Kimberly Suzor (Thomas).
Memorial Service Saturday, December 14, visiting at 10:30AM and funeral liturgy at 11:00AM at Church of the Holy Family, 24505 Meadowbrook Rd., Novi. Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly,MI
