Charles E. "Charlie" Perry, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Commerce Township, Michigan, passed on September 10, 2023. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Carolyn.

He was the loving father of Linda (Joseph), Gordie (d.) (Holly), Tim, Lisa, Michael (Kimberly), Laura, and Daniel (Jennifer). Proud grandfather of Mel, Christopher, Anthony, Daniel, Laura, Joseph, Dominic, Michael, Alana, Charles, Alyssa, PFC Anthony USMC, Elaina, Ava, Daniel, Kenneth, Abigail, Collin and Julia. Charlie was the dear brother of Alice (Marron), Richard (d.), Catherine (Drews), and Christi (Rott). He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Alice Perry. Charlie was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.

Upon graduation from St. Mary's of Redford, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served our country in the Marine Reserves as a Private First Class from 1956 until 1962. He married Carolyn in 1958 and they raised seven children together. Charlie worked for Ford Motor Company, after which he ran the family business, Perry's Market in Detroit, followed by an extensive tenure as a salesman for Applied Handling.

Charlie worked hard and truly loved his family, with whom he made many summer memories on Commerce Lake and Lake Chemung. Charlie was known for his keen and lively sense of humor and his engaging personality. He loved to spend time with Carolyn going out to dinner, running errands, and enjoying car rides. He loved his family and spending time with them was always important to him. Charlie enjoyed playing cards, reading, and watching Detroit sports. He was an avid golfer, with extensive experience playing at courses throughout the country. He will always be in our hearts.
